Houses turned into ashes in a flash

A fire broke out at Byonii Colony, Hapoli, Lower Subansiri District on the 30th of October, 2022. 

I was at a friend's house with two of my mates, when I received a call from a friend. She told me that a fire broke out near our PG, it might be somewhere near the market. As soon as I heard that, I ran out of the room to see the sky turned orange, not so far away (as you can see in the first image). We were all horrified to see that, and so we left the house to see where it was. As we got nearer to the location, one of my friend started panicking. The reason why he started panicking was because the location was near his friend's house. 

A crowd gathered near the location, some leaving the location, fearing a gas cylinder might burst, some going inside the location fearing their near and dear ones might be in need of help.  As we got to the location, the reason why my friend was panicked turned out to be true. The house just near his friend's house was on fire. People were rushing here and there taking their valuables out of the house. Some people just stood there watching the fire. By the time the fire brigade arrived (the roads leading to the location was very narrow for the fire brigade to enter), the fire had already spread massively. But the locals were there to help.  They were taking out buckets of water to put out the fire. Since there was no fresh water available, people had to use the water from the drains and the water available in the paddy fields. 

It was my second time witnessing such incident. The scene was a really terrifying and heartbreaking one. Not only because of the fire, but also because of the panicked and emotional look that people had because of the loss they had experienced. It took more than two hours to put out the fire, with the combined efforts of the locals and the fire brigade. Even a small puppy was trapped inside the fire, who was later rescued after putting out the fire.
